At a glance

Coach brings your current training context into the conversation. You choose what to share and remember. Changes to your accepted plan still need review and acceptance.

Find it in VOXXCoach, or Ask your coach from Today

Why did today’s run stay easy? How does yesterday’s effort affect this week? Coach gives you one place to ask, follow up and return to earlier discussions.

Step by step

  1. See what Coach is working with

Expand the Today context card. Try “Why is today easier?” or “What information is missing?” Coach assembles fresh, dated training context for each reply.

  2. Ask in the way that suits you

Type, or tap the microphone to record up to a minute. Review or edit the transcript, then press Send. This is a voice message, not a continuous call. Use the plus menu to choose a photo, take one or attach a supported file.

  3. Read the reply or tap Listen

Read at your own pace or play the reply in the natural Cedar AI voice. Asking questions and generating new replies need an internet connection.

  4. Save a useful preference

For example: “I prefer to run before work.” Choose Save to memory on your message, review the editable note and save it. Open Memory to add, change or remove notes. Coach does not silently create them.

  5. Pick up the conversation later

Use the options menu to find earlier conversations, start a new one or review Coach sharing. Chats are saved locally and in your signed-in VOXX account. Use the check-in or plan-review flow when you want to make a training change.

What Coach knows about your running

Replies can draw on your goals, availability and restrictions; check-ins; accepted plan; recorded runs and training totals; strength feedback; and available wearable summaries and import status. With your Coach sharing enabled, usable phone-recording summaries can also provide distance, pace, splits, cadence and climbing context. Sources stay identifiable, and missing or stale information stays explicit. Exact recorded maps are not included automatically. These measurements help explain a run; they do not establish readiness or exercise technique.

Useful memory, with you in control

Current messages, relevant older discussion and enabled notes help provide continuity. Coach selects relevant history rather than reading every record for every reply, so perfect recall is not promised. Turn Memory off to exclude other conversations and notes; your current conversation and current training context still apply. You can delete individual chats or notes, or clear both. Deleting a note alone does not delete its source conversation. Training records stay separate.

When a photo or file helps

Share a race-information PDF and ask “Which details should I check before event day?”, or attach a screenshot and ask “Can you explain this?” Supported inputs include common photo formats, unlocked PDFs up to 20 pages, and text, Markdown or CSV files, within the app’s size limits. Camera and microphone permissions appear when you use them.

Choose what you share

Personal Coach sharing is optional and names OpenAI, the shared information and stored chats and memory. Connecting a wearable does not enable it. VOXX keeps chats, attachment names and short descriptions, not original photo, PDF or audio files. OpenAI processes attachments under its API data policies. Review sharing before sending personal material.

A conversation does not change your plan

Coach can explain and discuss your situation, but cannot diagnose, clear symptom restrictions, silently record a workout or automatically rewrite your accepted plan. Replies can be imperfect. If advice conflicts with your symptoms, professional instructions or the session in Plan, check before acting. Plan changes still go through review and acceptance.
