At a glance

Give an existing long run one practical focus. Record what worked and carry that lesson into your preparation.

Find it in VOXXPlan → Support your running → Long runs & event preparation

An event involves more than the minutes you run. Shoes, clothing, familiar food and drink, travel and start instructions all deserve attention. VOXX gives those details a place beside your training, without turning every long run into a complicated experiment.

Step by step

  1. Choose an eligible long run

Rehearsals appear for accepted long runs of at least 60 minutes. Open Prepare for this long run or the preparation section in Plan. VOXX does not extend a session just to make a rehearsal possible.

  2. Pick one practical focus

Choose clothing and shoes, familiar fuel and drink, or comfortable effort. Add a note if it helps you remember the detail. Keep the run’s accepted training purpose; a rehearsal is not an invitation to turn it into a race.

  3. Record the experience afterward

Once the run is recorded or paired, add how that focus worked for you. Note something to keep or change next time. Report effort and pain in the normal run review, where they inform recovery and training decisions.

  4. Use the event checklist

With an event date set, review travel and start information, tested kit, familiar food and drink, effort or walking options, and current event or weather updates. Keep personal notes where you will find them again.

Learn one thing at a time

If a rehearsal was uncomfortable, use that feedback to reconsider one practical choice rather than changing everything together. Your next rehearsal can refer to the previous response for that focus. There is value in knowing what already works for you.

Preparation is not a readiness certificate

A checked list does not prove you are ready to race. The accepted plan, recovery checks and professional advice still apply. VOXX’s preparation feature does not invent individual carbohydrate, fluid, sodium or race-pace prescriptions. Those need appropriate evidence and, where relevant, individual professional support.
